The former Delhi Capitals batter’s selection was underlined by his outstanding run in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he has scored 256 runs in six innings at an impressive average of 64.00 and a strike rate of 182.85.CSK were active throughout the auction, making big investments by spending Rs 14.20 crore each on uncapped players Kartik Sharma and Prashant Veer, both of which turned out to be record-breaking buys. The franchise also strengthened their squad by bringing in Matt Henry and Rahul Chahar.Ahead of the auction, Chennai had pulled off a major trade, securing Sanju Samson for Rs 18 crore.
