Multiple courts in Mumbai, including the Bombay High Court, received bomb threats via email on Thursday (December 18, 2025), prompting evacuation and security checks. Magistrate courts in Bandra, Andheri, and Esplanade were among those targeted.
Bomb disposal squads and security agencies conducted thorough inspections of the premises. Mumbai Police confirmed that threat messages were sent to several courts and banks. All locations have since been checked and declared safe, the police said.
Proceedings at the High Court were temporarily halted and are expected to resume at 3 p.m. after clearance.
An internal communication issued under the Chief Justice’s instructions directed judges to rise from their Benches while the bomb disposal team carried out necessary measures.
