The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has accused Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of “closing all cases against him within a month by misusing institutional powers.”
“The party will pursue the issue, including taking it to the notice of the Supreme Court,” said party general secretary and former Additional Advocate General Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy while addressing the media in Hyderabad on Thursday.
“Mr. Naidu has been breaching his bail conditions by influencing institutions to close cases against him. We will approach the highest judicial authority to expose his misdeeds,” he said.
“The police who filed cases against Mr. Naidu are now clearing him, citing ‘mistake of fact’, and this clearly indicates his influence over institutions,” the YSRCP leader alleged.
“Mr. Naidu had been jailed for 53 days in the skill development case. The police filed a chargesheet after questioning 150 witnesses and recording statements of 18 officials in the alleged ₹371-crore scam. The Central agencies were also involved, and some of the accused served jail term. Despite a quash petition pending before the Supreme Court, the case has been closed,” the YSRCP leader alleged.
Mr. Sudhakar Reddy also alleged that Mr. Naidu was involved in cases such as Inner Ring Road, assigned lands, and liquor scam, all running into crores of rupees. “We will knock on the doors of the apex court and take the matter to its logical conclusion,” he said.
