Ministry of External Affairs on Friday (December 26, 2025) said that it condemns the gruesome killing of Hindu youth in Bangladesh and expects the perpetrators to be brought to justice.
Ministry of External Affairs said that “India closely following developments in Bangladesh.”
In a press briefing on the Bangladesh developments, the MEA also talked about the return of BNP’s Tarique Rahman. It said “India supports free, fair polls in Bangladesh; this development should be seen in that context.”
The MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said “Continuing hostilities against minorities in Bangladesh including Hindus, Christians and Buddhists matter of grave concern.”
He said “Over 2,900 incidents of violence against minorities documented in Bangladesh by independent sources during tenure of interim government.”
The MEA spokesperson reiterated that “Incidents of violence against minorities in Bangladesh cannot be brushed aside as media exaggeration or dismissed as political violence.”
On the problems faced by Indians following rescheduling of H-1B visas, the MEA said “We have flagged these issues and our concerns to U.S. side.”
