About 40 people were killed and more than 100 injured after a fire broke out at a bar at a popular Swiss Alps ski resort town on New Year’s Eve, according to police. The president of the Swiss Confederation, Guy Parmelin, said that many of the victims were young people and include Swiss residents as well as tourists from neighboring countries and elsewhere.
