The West Godavari District Collector Chadalavada Nagarani on Wednesday announced that over 5,300 acres of land have been identified for exclusion from the Kolleru Lake in the West Godavari district.Â
In an online meeting presided over by Chief Secretary G. Sai Prasad on Wednesday, Ms. Nagarani said that all the land earmarked for exclusion from the Kolleru Lake falls in the 10 villages of Akiveedu mandal in West Godavari district.
In the erstwhile West Godavari district, nearly 20,000 acres of land is being excluded from the Kolleru Lake as part of downsizing the lake. The excluded land will be handed over to the local communities after the respective land is de-notified from the lake. West Godavari Joint Collector T. Rahul Kumar Reddy and other officials attended the meeting.
