A death investigation is underway after a man’s body was pulled from the water near River Park on the city’s North Side on Saturday morning, Chicago police said.
Police said officers responded to a marine distress call in the Lincoln Square neighborhood’s 5200-block of North Virginia Avenue around 7:20 a.m.

The Chicago Fire Department pulled the 52-year-old man’s body from the Chicago River, and he was pronounced dead on the scene, police said.
How the man died was not immediately clear. His identity was not immediately released.
Authorities did not immediately provide further information.
