South Australian police hold grave fears for a woman missing in the outback for 16 days and have renewed search efforts near where her car was found abandoned.

Trisha Graf was last seen in the early hours of Friday 12 December in the Roxby Downs area, 510km north of Adelaide.

The 41-year-old Andamooka woman was driving a white 2012 Ford Territory, with SA registration S254BCX, which was found abandoned and unable to be driven near Blue Dam, east of Andamooka, on 13 December.

Police conducted an extensive air and ground search operation, including specialist dive teams, which failed to locate any sign of Graf.

On Monday, police were undertaking a further aerial search focusing on an area between Blue Dam and Andamooka, 32km from Roxby Downs, expanding the area already covered during extensive ground searches.
