The pro-Iranian Hezbollah militia in Lebanon has fired rockets at the Tel Aviv area in Israel for the first time since the beginning of the current Iran war.
The Israeli military announced on Tuesday after sirens blared in the coastal metropolis that several projectiles had been identified as having flown from Lebanon to Israel. They said the air defence had intercepted most of them, and one projectile landed in an open area.
The Magen David Adom rescue service reported that a man sustained injuries when he fell while running to a shelter. He was taken to hospital.
Hezbollah fired rockets towards Israel on Sunday in response to the killing of Iran’s head of state and religious leader ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Subsequently, the Israeli military began attacking numerous targets in Lebanon, mainly in the south of the country and in the southern suburbs of Beirut. These areas are within Hezbollah’s sphere of influence.
