The Agra-based Indian School of Nature (ISN), an institution engaged in education and research in climate action, sustainable tourism, and environment-compatible agriculture, has won the Climate Guardian Award 2025 at the Tour Operators for Tigers (TOFT) Wildlife and Nature Tourism Awards.
The award was conferred on Friday (December 12, 2025) in New Delhi on the Uttar Pradesh-based organisation, which was set up in 2023 and operates from its campus at Mela Kothi in Jarar village, Agra, in the Chambal region. The organisation works on integrating climate accountability into nature-based tourism in India.
Tour Operators for Tigers (TOFT) is a South Asia-based alliance of tour operators, lodges, conservation organisations, and specialists. Its work is grounded in the reality that across the Indian subcontinent, efforts to preserve tigers, national parks, and wildlife often compete with the immediate livelihood needs of rural communities.
“We at ISN feel that India with its diverse nature and biodiversity can emerge as a global Sustainable Tourism destination and we are committed to be part of this transformation. Our scientific approach towards quantifying sustainability has got global recognition and the TOFT award is a milestone in this journey,” said Ram Pratap Singh, Founder, Indian School of Nature.
Mr. Singh added, “ISN is also collaborating with SUMAS – Sustainability Management School, Geneva – to develop impact-oriented knowledge modules for the stakeholders of the tourism value chain who can then work towards global sustainability compliances mandated by Glasgow convention, EU guidelines, and COP 28.”
The TOFT Wildlife and Nature Tourism Awards honour individuals and organisations demonstrating noteworthy impact in wildlife conservation, climate action, and local community empowerment.
Indian School of Nature also acts as an open-source knowledge platform offering skilling courses, tools, and project support to help stakeholders design and implement low-carbon, socially inclusive projects across multiple sectors. In addition to its current verticals, it is developing future knowledge products on waste management, climate entrepreneurship, climate financing, urban sustainability, and energy transition.
