JAC calls for Rajampeta bandh on December 23

Rajampeta Joint Action Committee (JAC) has called for a dawn-to-dusk bandh on Tuesday (December 23, 2025) across Rajampeta Assembly constituency in Annamayya district, stepping up its agitation for district status with Rajampeta as the headquarters.

Rajampeta Telugu Desam Party in-charge Jaganmohan Raju, Jana Sena leader Vellaturu Srinivasa Raju, and BJP leader Lokesh jointly announced the bandh at the protest camp here on Sunday (December 21). The leaders appealed to educational institutions, government offices, commercial establishments, voluntary organisations, and the public to extend support to the bandh.

As part of mobilisation efforts, banners and posters were displayed across the town, highlighting the demand for a separate district. Representations were already submitted to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and Education Minister Nara Lokesh, urging the government to consider Rajampeta as district headquarters.

The organisers said that Rajampeta serves as a central hub for surrounding constituencies such as Railway Kodur and Rayachoti, and that district formation would ease administrative access for people from several mandals and villages.
