The quarterly Karnataka Development Programme (KDP) review meeting chaired by Forest and Environment Minister Eshwar Khandre in Bidar on Monday (January 5, 2026) was disrupted following a heated argument between BJP MLA Siddu Patil and Congress MLC Bhimarao Patil over an issue related to layout.
The meeting, held at the Zilla Panchayat auditorium in Bidar, turned tense within half an hour of its start, when the discussion moved towards the approval and implementation of a residential layout.
Though details of the dispute remain unclear, it snowballed into a verbal spat between the leaders. The clash soon escalated, with both legislators allegedly hurling accusations and using abusive language at each other.

As the situation worsened, Mr. Bhimarao Patil menacingly moved towards Mr. Siddu Patil, prompting other leaders and police officials to intervene and prevent a physical confrontation between the two.
Mr. Khandre made attempts to pacify both sides. However, as tempers continued to flare, he was compelled to adjourn the meeting to avoid further disruption.
