“It’s great to call Kayley up for her first ODI series,” New Zealand head coach Ben Sawyer said. “Kayley’s got good pace and control, and a short ball that regularly challenges batters.”
Suzie Bates, Flora Devonshire, and Georgia Plimmer, who all missed the Zimbabwe series with injury, are back in the ODI squad. They replace Emma McLeod, Polly Inglis, and Bella James, with Knight coming in for Molly Penfold.
New Zealand have already wrapped up victory in the T20I series against South Africa 3-1, with the fifth and final match set to be played on Wednesday at Hagley Oval.
The two teams will remain in Christchurch for the start of the ODI series on Sunday, before moving to the Basin Reserve in Wellington, which will host the second and third ODIs on April 1 and 4.
