Pilots at Germany’s Lufthansa airline have been called to strike again on Thursday and Friday against the backdrop of ongoing collective bargaining negotiations, the Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) union said on Tuesday.

The strike will apply to Lufthansa’s core brand, Lufthansa Cargo and Lufthansa CityLine, VC said. Lufthansa’s budget airline Eurowings is to be affected by the strike on Thursday only.

Lufthansa has faced a string of industrial actions since the beginning of the year. Pilots went on strike as recently as Monday and Tuesday, while flight attendants are set to walk off the job on Wednesday and Thursday.

“The situation remains unchanged — there has been no movement whatsoever on the part of the employers,” said VC president, Andreas Pinheiro.

“Neither Lufthansa nor Lufthansa Cargo has presented an offer regarding the company pension plan, nor is there a viable offer from Lufthansa CityLine for a new collective wage agreement or from Eurowings regarding the company pension plan,” he said.

VC also said it has proposed arbitration to resolve the collective bargaining disputes.
