Homicide detectives are investigating after a man was shot dead in Melbourne’s inner north on Saturday night.
Gunshots were heard at the intersection of Brunswick and King William streets in Fitzroy just after midnight. Police found a man with life-threatening injuries.
Emergency service workers attempted to perform first aid but the man died at the scene.
The man has yet to be formally identified.
A vehicle is believed to have left the scene before police arrived.
Police are searching for those responsible and no arrests have been made.
