The BDL-Bhanur police of Patancheru on Saturday (December 28, 2025) arrested Sigachi Industries Limited Chief Executive Officer Amit Raj Sinha in connection with the industrial blast at Bhanur that claimed about 50 lives and left several others injured nearly six months ago.

Amit Raj Sinha was named as Accused No. 2 in the case registered by the police following a complaint lodged by the family members of the deceased workers. The blast occurred on June 30, after which a case of culpable homicide was booked against the company management.

The arrest followed an investigation carried out by the Patancheru police of Sangareddy district, who examined the circumstances leading to the explosion at the industrial unit.

The development came after the Telangana High Court insisted on action against the management while hearing a public interest litigation filed by a group of retired scientists, seeking accountability for what has been described as the biggest industrial mishap in the State.
