A Dunfermline grandmother who found TikTok fame has died aged 78.

Agnes, or EpicGamerGrandma as she was known online, passed away in hospital on Sunday, surrounded by her family after suffering a stroke in October.

Her TikTok page has a total of 2.4m followers and 81m likes. Some of the videos include Agnes playing games, using soundboards and using face filters.

Her passing was confirmed by her grandson Dylan King in an Instagram post Tuesday. He said she showed that “age really is just a number”.

In a statement shared online, Dylan said: “(We are) proud of the woman she was long before anyone knew her online.

“Proud of the mum and grandma who held our family together and proud of the way she spent her later years proving that life does not end at a certain age, it only changes shape.”

He added: “For most of her life, Agnes was not an influencer. She was a daughter, a sister, a mum, a grandma, a neighbour, a friend.

“She was the person who made sure everyone else was fed before she even thought of herself. She was the one who remembered birthdays, who called just to check in, who quietly carried more than she ever let on. She was home.”

As well as fun and silly videos, Agnes also shared insights about her chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which lead to her being known as the coughing gran, and spoke about grief after the death of her husband George.

Her grandson had posted several health updates about his grandmother in the weeks leading up to her death.

She was initially hospitalised due to complications from COPD but went on to suffer for a series of strokes.

Her videos amassed her a large online following with fans, particularly young people, across the world.
