Two youths were killed on the spot after one of them riding a motorcycle lost control of it and hit a road divider near Rayapur in Hubballi.
The deceased have been identified as Prajwal of Vijayapura and Shankar of Hubballi, both aged 26.
The accident took place around midnight on Sunday.
According to sources, as the motorcycle hit the road divider, the motorcyclist and the pillion rider were thrown in the air. They died on the spot due to grievous injuries.
Overspeeding is said to be the reason for the accident.
