Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has earned his maiden India A call-up for the upcoming one-day tri-series in Sri Lanka, which will also feature Afghanistan. This continues the 15-year-old’s rapid rise in top-flight cricket, after the Rajasthan Royals batter became an IPL sensation last year, and was India Under-19s’ highest run-getter in the World Cup earlier this year. In the Under-19 World Cup final, he smashed 175 off 80 balls to set up India’s title win.
Tilak Varma will lead the India A squad, with Riyan Parag named as his deputy. Tilak, Parag and fast bowler Anshul Kamboj are the only members in the squad who have represented the senior India side.
The all-round options were Nishant Sindhu, Harsh Dubey and Suryansh Shedge, while Jammu & Kashmir pacer Yudhvir Singh is also part of the squad. Yudhvir was J&K’s third-highest wicket-taker with 21 wickets in their victorious 2025-26 Ranji Trophy campaign, after taking nine wickets at an average of 30.66 in the 50-overs Vijay Hazare Trophy.

India A will face Sri Lanka A in the opening game of the tri-series on June 9. The final is scheduled for June 21.

After the tri-series, India A will also play two red-ball matches against Sri Lanka A. The squad for the first-class matches will be announced later.
