Sri Guruguha Vaggeya Trust and Guruguha Ganasabha of Shivamogga have jointly organised a seven-day national Veena Mahotsava in Shivamogga, beginning on December 25.
The organisers have been conducting the exclusive veena recital festival for the last 21 years. Well-known vainikas, or veena players, from India and abroad will take part in the festival, to be held at Sri Prasanna Ganapati Temple at Ravindra Nagara in Shivamogga.
Sringeri H.S. Nagaraj, managing trustee of the trust, in a press release issued on December 23, said Revathi Kamath, Vijayalakshmi Raghu, Madhukaram Prashant Iyengar, Ramanath Iyer, Gopinath Iyer, Manjula M.R., Rajyashree Joshyar, Ishwarya Manikarnika, M.K. Sridevi, and others will present veena recitals in the festival.
