A woman in her 20s from the Faversham area of Kent has died on Christmas Eve following a crash on the M2, police have confirmed.
Kent Police said officers were called at 12:50 GMT to the scene near the Medway services where a black Volkswagen T-Roc had hit the central reservation barrier before overturning.
The London-bound carriageway between junctions five (for Maidstone) and four (for Gillingham) was closed for most of the day but reopened shortly before 22:00.
The force is now appealing for witnesses, including motorists with dashcam footage, to come forward.
A police spokesperson said there were no passengers in the car and no other vehicles were involved.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service said three fire engines attended and the woman’s next of kin have been informed.
A diversion is in place using the A249, M20 and A228.
