The second edition of Namma Art Bengaluru, a national art exhibition, was kickstarted at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath in the city on Wednesday (May 6). The exhibition will be open till May 10.

It features over 150 artists from across India and is curated by Lina Vincent, an art curator and historian. It showcases multiple art forms including Mysore paintings, fluid art, contemporary art, copper, brass, and terracotta sculptures, and features artists from States such as Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, among others.

Geetanjali Vikram Kirloskar, chairperson and managing director, Kirloskar Systems Pvt. Ltd., who inaugurated the exhibition, said art is not just what hangs on the wall, but what we make of it.

“I started my art journey eight years ago, during the Covid-19 lockdown, and since then, I have been displaying my artworks in exhibitions across India. I have participated in Chitra Santhe before. This is my first time exhibiting my work at Namma Bengaluru Art. I feel that such initiatives offer a great platform for artists to display their work, connect with fellow artists, and also sell their creations,” said Archana S., an artist featured in the exhibition.
