Vice President CP Radhakrishnan will be accorded a civic reception hosted by the government when he arrives in Puducherry on Monday .

As per schedule, the Vice President, who will arrive at the Puducherry airport at 10.05 am, will proceed to the Kamban Kalaiarangam, to attend the civic reception.

During the function, Mr. Radhakrishnan will also inaugurate a housing project completed at Kumaraguru Pallam under Smart City Mission and hand over the keys of five tenements to beneficiaries.

Thereafter, the Vice President will unveil the Bharathiyar Statue at Bharathiar Memorial, Eswaran Koil Street.

He will proceed to visit Kumaraguru Pallam to interact with beneficiaries of the housing project.

He is also scheduled to open the Senior Secondary Block of Petit Seminar School, Moolakulam.

In the afternoon, the Vice President will be the chief guest at the 30th convocation ceremony of Pondicherry University and deliver the convocation address.

Mr. Radhakrishnan is scheduled to leave for Thiruvananthapuram, therafter, for various engagements scheduled for Tuesday . In the afternoon the same day, Mr. Radhakrishnan will be in Madurai to participate in the valedictory ceremony of Kashi Tamil Sangham 4.0, at the Alayam Grounds, Rameswaram. He returns to Delhi after the event.

On Sunday, Lt. Governor K. Kailashnathan chaired a meeting with officials to review the arrangements made for the Vice President’s visit.

Shalini Singh, Director General of Police, A.K. Singla, IG, Government Secretaries P. Jawahar, D. Manikandan, and District Collector A. Kulothungan, and senior police officials attended, a press note from Lok Niwas said.

The Lt. Governor instructed the officials to act diligently to ensure that there are no shortcomings in the events and that the arrangements are made in a way that causes minimal inconvenience to the public. Later, Mr. Kailashnathan inspected the venues where the events are scheduled.
