If you’re craving bacon on a Tuesday, Wendy’s just made December 30 the right day for it. In honor of National Bacon Day, the fast-food chain is offering its Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger for just one cent — but you’ll need to act fast.

What you’re getting for a penny
The Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger features a fresh, never-frozen square beef patty topped with two strips of applewood smoked bacon, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, and creamy mayo on a toasted bun. It’s one of Wendy’s most popular menu items and a longtime staple on the chain’s value menu.
Wendy’s is also home to the Baconator, which features six pieces of bacon. But for National Bacon Day, it’s the Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger getting the spotlight — and the steep discount.
Americans really love their bacon
The timing makes sense. More than 2 billion pounds of bacon is produced in the United States each year, and the average American consumes about 18 pounds of bacon annually, according to Texas A&M University’s Rosenthal Meat Science Center.
The meat has increasingly become a year-round staple, moving beyond its traditional breakfast role. The National Pork Board reported that bacon’s demand has grown due to its appeal beyond breakfast, with the crispy, salty meat now showing up wrapped around everything from filet mignon to ice cream.

To claim your one-cent Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger, download the Wendy’s app if you don’t already have it, create an account or log in, and look for the National Bacon Day offer on December 30. The deal is available at participating U.S. Wendy’s locations for one day only and must be redeemed through the app — in-store or drive-thru orders without the app won’t qualify.
