Alleging that YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) general secretary (media wing) Pudi Srihari was detained by the police in violation of legal procedures and fundamental rights in Tadepalli on Wednesday morning, the party leaders lodged a complaint with Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Harish Kumar Gupta.
In the complaint mailed to the DGP, YSRCP State general secretary Lella Appireddy claimed that Mr. Srihari was intercepted near Rainbow Villas around 8 a.m. by the police personnel in plain clothes. According to the complaint, Mr. Srihari was stopped when he was returning after meeting YSRCP president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy at the latter’s residence.
